Thanks. Great to see someone active and contributing despite getting the greencard.
If we have more people like you we can work on trying to get the eligibility start time for citizenship counted from the time I140 gets approved rather than the day you get Greencard.
This maybe a big change and even help us politically as more people will become citizens earlier and can vote.
This is something for all IV GC holder members and all other GC holders everywhere to think about. They are invited to have a dialogue and participation in such an effort if interested.
I have benefited by using IV though I joined late but I like the work IV is doing and try to do my bit in whatever way i can. I wish more people start working towards the common goal

Pay stub is secondary .. In the given market getting an offer letter should be your priority. Once you have an offer letter (job) you can apply for your H1 transfer. Worst case USCIS will ask you to go back to your home country and re-enter with a fresh I-94 BUT all this will only happen is you have a new offer.
You said you are here with your family. I do not know your financial condition but it all depends upon how long you can sustain without a job and what risk level you can take with your family. BTW, you have been out of status for 4 months.. so do whatever you want but quickly.

I want to make myself a little clear. Actually, the company thru which I applied my H1B transfer, withdrew my case recently when some query came. I did apply for premium processing paying more. Now the situation is I am still hunting job but as you know it is hard to get one these days. Nothing has been finalised as yet and I am having paystub till Jan. 2009. The company for which I worked won't like to give any letter for unpaid leave. Your case do give me some hope, but I am worried :
- no new company would like to process my case owing to my 3-4 months back paystub . Is it going to happen like this ? I am here with my family, and in that case I am confused whether I should stick to this place or leave.

I find it wise to pay my lawyer to find the correct information for me.... be it from USCIS website or from her professional knowledge base. Believe it or not, I trust a qualified professional more than myself when it comes to a subject outside of my expertise...:D

I got a reply from our corporate attorney that "We did file both of your applications together. However, each application is adjudicated separately. We anticipate her approval shortly."

If they take the trouble of selecting multiple applications from the same employer, I dont doubt that anybody with multiple applications (even from different employers) will get either rejected or get questions.

Hi,
I am in a similar situation. I am in US on B1 visa and accidently damaged my passport.
Both my passport and I-94 are mutilated. Duplicate passport takes 6-8 weeks and I-102 takes close to 3 months.
What should I do? My exit date as per I-94 is Aug,25th.

Per your profile your area of charegability is Egypt. EB2 dates for Egypt are current , there is nothing that prevents you from filing your 485 today .

My PD is current - Going for consular processing a good idea?
i dont know how much u...but changing the option is not like picking a different item from menu..............this requires a lot more documesnts + time..........

As per me, you really have to do "nothing"
1. You continue working with your present employer
2. Let the contract company get your H1B approved
3. After getting the new H1b Approval tell the contracting company that you will not join till 3 months as you are working on some important project, and able to join them ASA the project is complete
4. Wait for 6 months
5. After 6 months you will get EAD.
I did somewhat the same as above and it did work, a contracting company applied for my H1B but didn't join them for some technical reasons
The best part of this is you will get a CAP exempt H1B, which you can use it, if you run in trouble with your I-485

Just evidence that USCIS recd. this package.! Sorry for the late reply. Yes the RFE was for medical (for me and spouse) as I thought. We sent response on Aug 12, got hard LUD ("response received, case processing resumed") Aug 19, then soft LUDs on Aug 20, 21, 26 and 27, and nothing after that.

Hi all, my first post here. The forum has been truly useful so far and I'm glad to join today. I was one of those just lurking around but now I really need the feedback from D70 experts here since my 6 month old D70 won't work anymore overnight. I just put it back in the shock-proof case and it slept there, next morning it was no longer usable.
It seems like it's resetting constantly by itself. The MENU key shows the menu briefly and disappears, the last picture review button shows the last picture on the flash card briefly and also disappears.
When there's a card in it blinks the green light about once a second. Seems like it's really rebooting every second.
There is no display on the control LCD near the on/off switch. It is blank and does not show any traces of anything, just plain blank.
On the big LCD preview screen it is normally blank but like I said it does briefly display the last picture taken when you press review, but then disappears also at 1 second interval.
When the menu shows briefly after pressing MENU the movement keys do not affect the selection, all keys seem disabled during that brief period of time.
I've changed batteries, lenses, pushed every button and checked the lens socket connectors to see if anything looked strange - everything seems ok here. Tested the same batteries on another D70 and worked perfect just this morning.
It has taken no shocks or beating. It's a brand new D70 (6 months and a few days) and my retailer denies me warranty after 6 months - Murphy's Law applied to warranties says your equipment will break exactly after the warranty voids. I feel like I've been ripped off buying a refurbished piece for the price of a new one...but that's for another discussion.
I've written Nikon a few minutes ago but in the meantime I'd like to know if anyone here knows of a "keylock" switch or something that could disallow me access to the camera. Or could be a stuck reset switch or something like that. The menu shows and the internal mechanism is ok because it can read the last photo and displays readable stuff. The reset on the bottom of the camera does not seem ot reset anything, it just blanks the screen out briefly but then it goes back into an infinite reboot loop.
Help please!

I just realised that there is the wrong expiration date on my i-94 when I came back from a visit to India in Feb 2006.
The officer did not put the date according to the 797 which expires in 2007 .He put the expiration date as per the visa stamp.
My visa in my passport has also expired in April 2006.
My company is filing for 1485 and the lawyer just noticed it .
What are my options ?

The PD shows up on the approval notice of I140. I don't know if it shows up on the 485 as I haven't seen one and won't see one for years. But it makes sense to have the PD on the I140 as once the I140 is approved you can port that PD (if employer does not revoke it)
